GENERAL QUESTIONS

What is Agribit?

Agribit is a global digital agricultural marketplace that connects farmers, buyers, and agricultural partners in one transparent platform for fair, efficient, and traceable food trade. The platform enables users to buy, sell, pre-order, and enter into supply agreements for physical agricultural goods, request custom-grown crops, participate in subscription-based purchasing, and support agricultural production through farm funding arrangements where permitted by law.

Agribit provides the digital infrastructure for discovery, communication, contracting, digital wallets, and secure payment facilitation. Where available and upon request, Agribit may facilitate access to optional post-harvest services—such as packaging, quality inspection, storage, and logistics—through third-party partners or designated service providers. Agribit does not itself grow, produce, or sell agricultural goods.

What makes Agribit different?

Agribit is more than a listing or classifieds platform. It is a purpose-built agricultural marketplace designed to support real agricultural trade, long production cycles, and direct supply relationships.

Agribit supports spot purchases of available agricultural goods, pre-harvest and forward delivery supply agreements for physical goods, subscription-based agricultural purchasing, custom-grown crops, and farm funding or crowdfunding arrangements tied to agricultural production.

The platform is designed around agricultural realities such as planting schedules, crop growth stages, seasonal availability, and delivery planning. Agribit provides secure digital records, escrow-style payment tools, Agribit Credits, and direct communication between buyers and farmers, while remaining a neutral technology provider rather than a broker, financial institution, or commodity exchange.

Who is Agribit for?

Agribit is designed for a wide range of agricultural market participants, including:

  1. Small-scale and independent growers (“mom & pop” growers)
  2. Home gardeners, urban gardeners and high-tech farmers
  3. Individual consumers purchasing agricultural products
  4. Restaurants, professional chefs, retailers, wholesalers, hospitality businesses, and food processors
  5. Agricultural partners, distributors, and logistics providers
  6. Farmers and agricultural producers seeking direct access to local and global buyers
  7. Supporters of sustainable agriculture and farm funding participants, where permitted by law

All users participate in transactions subject to applicable laws and Agribit platform policies.

Where does Agribit operate?

Agribit operates globally as a digital platform. Product availability, shipping options, pricing, and delivery timelines depend on the seller’s location, product type, and applicable local, national, and international regulations.

Is Agribit a farming company?

No. Agribit is not a farming company. Agribit does not grow, harvest, process, or manufacture agricultural products. Agribit is a technology platform that enables independent farmers and buyers to connect and transact directly.

Is Agribit a financial or investment firm?

No. Agribit is not a bank, broker, dealer, financial advisor, commodity exchange, or investment firm. Agribit does not provide financial, legal, tax, or investment advice and does not offer investment products or guarantees.

Is Agribit suitable for businesses and wholesalers?

Yes. Agribit supports individual buyers as well as commercial buyers such as restaurants, retailers, wholesalers, hospitality groups, and food processors. The platform supports one-time purchases, recurring supply relationships, subscriptions, and custom procurement needs, subject to seller terms and regulatory requirements.

Can investors or supporters participate on Agribit?

Yes, Agribit welcomes interest from investors and supporters. If you’d like to get involved or learn more about opportunities, please reach out to us at contact@email.com and our team will be happy to connect with you.

ACCOUNT & REGISTRATION

Do I need an account to use Agribit?

Yes. An account is required to buy, sell, communicate with other users, hold Agribit Credits, or complete transactions on the platform.

How do I create an account?

You can create an account by registering on agribit.io, providing the required contact and profile information, and agreeing to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Create an account here.

Is there a cost to create an account?

No. Creating an Agribit account is free. Transaction-related fees may apply depending on platform usage.

Can I have both a buyer and farmer account?

Yes. Users may act as both buyers and sellers, provided they meet verification and compliance requirements for each role.

BUYING ON AGRIBIT

What can I buy on Agribit?

Buyers can purchase fresh produce, specialty crops such as coffee, spices, cocoa, honey, and herbs, pre-harvest crops, custom-grown agricultural products, subscription-based agricultural deliveries, and products associated with farm funding arrangements, subject to seller availability and applicable regulations.

What is a pre-harvest purchase?

A pre-harvest purchase is a commercial supply agreement in which a buyer commits to purchasing agricultural goods before harvest. These arrangements help farmers plan production and secure demand while giving buyers early access to supply. Pre-harvest purchases do not guarantee yield, delivery timing, or pricing outcomes.

How do subscriptions work?

Agribit supports subscription-based purchasing through an automated system that analyzes a buyer’s historical purchases and stated preferences to assemble a physical crate of selected items. Buyers choose delivery intervals such as weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly.

At each interval, the transaction amount is deducted from the buyer’s Agribit Credits balance. If insufficient credits are available, the buyer is notified and prompted to purchase additional credits before the order is processed.

AGRIBIT CREDITS & DIGITAL WALLET

What are Agribit Credits?

Agribit Credits are platform-specific digital units purchased by users and stored in their Agribit digital wallet. Credits are used exclusively to complete transactions on the Agribit platform and have no value outside the platform.

Agribit Credits are not legal tender, electronic money, stored-value accounts, or financial instruments.

What is the Agribit digital wallet?

The Agribit digital wallet is a platform-based account feature that allows users to hold, manage, and use Agribit Credits for transactions. Each registered user has access to a wallet linked to their Agribit account.

The wallet is used solely for platform transactions and recordkeeping and does not function as a bank account.

How do I purchase Agribit Credits?

Buyers can purchase Agribit Credits through the Agribit platform using supported payment methods. Once a purchase is completed, the corresponding number of credits is deposited into the user’s digital wallet and becomes available for use in transactions.

Available payment methods may vary by location and regulatory requirements.

How are Agribit Credits used?

Agribit Credits can be used to:

  1. Purchase agricultural products
  2. Enter into pre-harvest or forward delivery agreements
  3. Participate in subscription-based purchases
  4. Support crowdfunding or farm funding listings, where available

Credits are applied to transactions according to the terms agreed upon between buyers and sellers.

Why does Agribit use credits instead of direct payments?

Using Agribit Credits allows the platform to:

  1. Simplify transactions across different regions and currencies
  2. Enable escrow-based and milestone-based payment releases
  3. Improve transaction traceability and recordkeeping
  4. Reduce payment friction between buyers and sellers

Credits are designed to support agricultural trade workflows, not to function as a standalone payment system.

Are Agribit Credits refundable?

Agribit Credits are generally non-refundable once purchased. Credits that have been used, reserved, committed to a transaction, or applied to completed or partially completed transactions are not refundable. Any exceptions apply only where required by applicable law.

Do Agribit Credits expire?

No. Agribit Credits do not expire.

Can Agribit Credits be transferred to other users?

Credit transfers between users may be permitted in limited circumstances as defined by platform rules. Credits may not be sold, exchanged, or transferred outside the Agribit platform.

Can I withdraw Agribit Credits as cash?

No. Agribit Credits are not redeemable for cash. Sellers receive payouts according to agreed transaction terms and payout methods. Credits do not accrue interest.

How does escrow work with Agribit Credits?

When escrow-style payments are used, Agribit Credits may be reserved, held, or released in stages based on agreed milestones such as planting, harvest, or delivery. These conditions are defined in the transaction agreement between buyer and seller. Agribit facilitates this process but does not act as a licensed escrow agent.

Are Agribit Credits secure?

Yes. Agribit implements industry-standard security measures to protect user accounts, wallets, and transaction records. Transactions involving credits are recorded using secure digital infrastructure, including blockchain-like (custom ecosystem) records.

Are Agribit Credits a form of cryptocurrency or token?

No. Agribit Credits are not cryptocurrency, blockchain tokens, or digital assets intended for trading or speculation. They are platform-specific credits used solely to facilitate transactions within Agribit.

Is using Agribit Credits mandatory?

Yes, all transactions on Agribit require the use of Agribit Credits to ensure consistency, escrow functionality, and compliance with platform processes.

Important Digital Wallet Disclaimer

Agribit Credits are platform-use credits only and are not legal tender, electronic money, stored-value accounts, or investment products. Agribit is not a bank or financial institution, and the digital wallet does not function as a bank account. Credits have no value outside the Agribit platform.

PAYMENTS, SHIPPING & RISK

Who is responsible for shipping?

When the buyer and farmer agree to arrange the shipment between themselves and not involve Agribit, shipping and delivery terms are agreed upon directly between the buyer and seller. The seller remains responsible for preparing goods for shipment and ensuring compliance with applicable laws. Agribit does not take ownership or physical possession of goods. Where available, sellers may choose to arrange shipping through third-party logistics providers accessible via the platform.

If however, the buyer and farmer agree to involve Agribit for quality control, then a small service fee will be charged to the farmer for which Agribit will pick up the product listing(s) from the farmer’s location directly, perform quality control checks, and if a passing grade is given, then the shipment will be shipped out through the logistics chain of Agribit.

Does Agribit guarantee delivery or product quality?

No. Agribit does not guarantee delivery timelines, product quality, quantity, condition, or regulatory compliance of any goods listed or transacted on the platform.

All agricultural products are listed, produced, packaged, and supplied by independent sellers, and sellers remain responsible for fulfilling the terms of their transactions, including compliance with applicable agricultural, food safety, export, and labeling regulations.

In some cases, buyers and farmers may jointly agree to use optional services facilitated through Agribit, such as third-party quality inspection, handling, or logistics coordination. These services are provided to support transparency and process efficiency and do not constitute a guarantee of product quality, delivery outcomes, or regulatory compliance by Agribit.

Agribit provides the digital infrastructure for listings, communication, payment facilitation, recordkeeping, and dispute support, but is not a party to sales contracts and does not assume ownership or liability for goods.

Buyers are encouraged to review listings carefully, communicate directly with sellers, and conduct appropriate due diligence before completing transactions. Agricultural production and logistics involve inherent risks, and outcomes may vary due to factors beyond Agribit’s control.

Can I cancel an order?

Cancellation rights depend on the agreement and crop stage. Custom or pre-harvest orders may not be cancellable.

Does Agribit guarantee payment?

Agribit facilitates payments and implements safeguards to help ensure agreed payments are upheld. Funds are secured through Agribit Credits and escrow-style mechanisms before transactions proceed. However, Agribit does not act as a bank, insurer, or financial guarantor, and final liability remains with the contracting parties.

DISPUTES & CONDUCT

What happens if there is a dispute?

If a dispute arises between a buyer and a seller, Agribit provides a structured dispute resolution process designed to help the parties communicate, clarify issues, and seek a resolution.

Through this process, Agribit may review relevant platform records—such as transaction details, messages exchanged through the platform, payment status, and agreed milestones—and may facilitate communication or mediation between the parties. This process is intended to support fair resolution based on the agreed transaction terms.

Agribit does not act as a court, arbitrator, or legal authority and does not make binding legal determinations. Final responsibility, liability, and any legal remedies remain with the contracting parties.

What happens if a buyer does not perform?

If a buyer fails to perform according to the agreed transaction terms, for example, by failing to confirm milestones, refusing delivery without valid cause, or otherwise breaching the agreement—the farmer may initiate a dispute through the Agribit platform.

Agribit may assist by reviewing platform records, facilitating communication, and applying applicable platform rules, including holding or releasing funds in accordance with the transaction terms and dispute process. Where appropriate, Agribit may take administrative actions on the platform, such as account warnings, restrictions, or suspension.

Agribit does not adjudicate legal claims or provide legal remedies. Farmers retain the right to pursue external legal action where permitted by law, and Agribit does not assume liability for buyer non-performance.

What conduct is expected from farmers?

Farmers using the Agribit platform are expected to act professionally, transparently, and in good faith when engaging with buyers and other users.

This includes, but is not limited to:

Providing accurate and complete listings

Farmers must ensure that product descriptions, quantities, pricing, crop stages, certifications, and availability are accurate, current, and not misleading.

Communicating promptly and clearly

Farmers should respond to buyer inquiries, transaction updates, and platform messages in a timely and professional manner, especially when issues or delays arise.

Acting in good faith

Farmers are expected to honor agreed terms, make reasonable efforts to fulfill commitments, and notify buyers promptly if circumstances arise that may affect production, delivery, or quality.

Complying with platform policies and applicable laws

Farmers must follow Agribit’s Terms of Service, platform rules, and any applicable local, national, and international laws governing agricultural production, trade, and food safety.

Failure to meet these expectations may result in platform actions such as listing removal, account restrictions, suspension, or other measures as outlined in Agribit’s policies.

COMPLIANCE & LIABILITY

Who is responsible for regulatory compliance?

Each party to a transaction is responsible for complying with the laws and regulations applicable to their role and jurisdiction.

Farmers and sellers are responsible for ensuring that agricultural goods are produced, handled, labeled, and prepared in accordance with applicable agricultural, food safety, export, and labeling regulations. Buyers are responsible for complying with applicable import, customs, and use requirements in their destination jurisdiction.

Agribit provides a digital platform to facilitate transactions and may offer tools, documentation support, or access to third-party services where available, but Agribit does not independently verify regulatory compliance and does not assume responsibility for ensuring compliance on behalf of users.

Is Agribit liable for losses or disputes?

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Agribit disclaims liability for losses, damages, delays, or disputes arising out of or related to the use of the platform or transactions between users.

Agribit acts solely as a technology platform that facilitates introductions, communication, and payment processes between independent buyers and sellers. Agribit is not a party to contracts formed between users and does not assume responsibility for the actions, omissions, or performance of any user.

This includes, but is not limited to, losses or disputes related to:

  1. Product quality, quantity, or condition
  2. Delivery delays or failures
  3. Crop yield, production outcomes, or force majeure events
  4. Regulatory or customs issues
  5. Financial losses or missed opportunities

Users acknowledge that agricultural and commercial transactions involve inherent risks and agree that they engage in transactions on the platform at their own discretion and risk.

Nothing in this section limits Agribit’s liability where such limitation is prohibited by applicable law.

HELP & SUPPORT

Is there help for farmers?

Yes. Agribit provides a range of tools and resources to help farmers successfully use the platform and connect with buyers.

This support may include:

  1. Onboarding resources to guide farmers through account setup, verification, and first listings
  2. Listing guidance and best-practice recommendations to help farmers present products clearly and accurately
  3. Platform tools and dashboards for managing listings, orders, communications, and payments
  4. Educational materials and tips related to pricing, supply planning, and buyer communication
  5. Access to support channels for technical issues, account questions, or transaction-related concerns

Agribit’s support is focused on helping farmers use the platform effectively. Agribit does not provide agricultural, financial, legal, or regulatory advice and does not manage farming operations or production decisions on behalf of farmers.

Support inquiries can be submitted through the Agribit website or by contacting support@agribit.io. Submit support inquiries here.

SECURITY & TRANSPARENCY

Is Agribit secure?

Yes. Agribit uses modern security practices to protect user accounts, transactions, and platform data. This includes secure authentication, access controls, and ongoing monitoring designed to reduce unauthorized access and misuse.

Where applicable, Agribit also uses a blockchain-like (custom ecosystem) record system to support transparency and traceability of transactions and agreements on the platform.

Why does Agribit use blockchain-like (custom ecosystem) technology?

Agribit uses blockchain-like (custom ecosystem) technology to enhance transparency, traceability, and trust across the platform. This technology allows certain transaction records and agreements to be recorded in a tamper-resistant and auditable manner, helping users verify transaction history and agreed terms over time.

This system is used for recordkeeping and transparency purposes only and does not involve cryptocurrency trading or public blockchain speculation.

Does Agribit store my payment information?

Agribit follows industry-standard security practices and works with secure, third-party payment providers to process payments. Sensitive payment information, such as card details, is handled by these payment providers in accordance with their security and compliance standards.

Agribit does not store full payment card details on its own servers.
